Thunevin SAS has managed its wine trading business, started in 1988, from its offices located in the very center of Saint-Emilion and naturally markets a majority of wines from the Right Bank.
Jean-Luc Thunevin became a figure in the wine world in less than a decade thanks to the successful creation of Château Valandraud. A wine that went from a “garage wine” at its beginnings in 1991 to a Premier Grand Cru Classé of Saint Emilion in 2012, confirmed in 2022.
But before creating Château Valandraud, Jean-Luc Thunevin embarked on the adventure of a wine trading activity, a commercial business that developed over the years. Today, a staff of around fifty employees is active in the trading offices and its two dedicated logistics sites. The sales team is experienced and attentive to the needs of our contacts while working with respect for creating value for all actors in the sector.
In addition to the wines from our estates, we are allocated more than twenty iconic grands crus from Bordeaux or abroad (Pingus…), and our sales are divided between deliverable wines and futures (en primeur).
Retail sales are an integral part of our commercial vision with 6 shops (and 10 dedicated employees) located in the medieval town of Saint Emilion, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
We are also developing our wine tourism hospitality activity with the creation in 2021 of our subsidiary Thunevin Domaines, in charge of the Badon Boutique Hotel (4 stars) in Saint Emilion and several tourist accommodations including the 5-star Logis de Valandraud in Saint Etienne de Lisse.
All our trading and winemaking structures have been ISO 9001 and 14001 certified since 2010.
Our vineyard activity has been HVE 3 certified since 2021.
